Vocal Expressions

Vocal Expressions is a welcoming and friendly ladies choir based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Led by Musical Director, Nicola Mills, and accompanist, Lloyd Buck, the choir rehearses each Thursday evening in Holmbridge. As well as performing at our own concerts, we enjoy singing as guests of others; at fundraising events, weddings and private functions.
We have an extensive and varied repertoire including both sacred and secular music, ranging from classical to contemporary.

Most of all we just love to sing.

We have lots of exciting events coming up this summer:

We are looking forward to taking part in Valley Voices Choir Festival at Marsden Mechanics on Sunday afternoon 11th May.

We are also delighted to be part of the Holmfirth Arts Festival.

On Saturday 31 May at 2pm-4pm‬, the choir will be singing at ‬Austonley Celebrates Textiles‬, part of the Graveship of Holme project, at Holme Sunday School, HD9 2QG‬, where there will also be arts and crafts‬‭ from‬‭ Common‬‭ Threads and Monkey‬‭ Business.‬‭

Then on Saturday 14th June (as part of the HAF Big Weekend) you will be able to hear us performing in Holmeside Gardens from 3:30pm, and as part of the Pageant which weaves together the stories and imagery of the seven townships of the Graveship of Holme.

Our own concert with afternoon tea is on 27th July at St David’s Hall in Holmbridge. Watch this space for more information.

Each year Vocal Expressions adopts a charity to support. For 2025/26 the choir has chosen Square Pegs as its charity to support.

Square Pegs is a local group for people with a variety of disabilities or people who just don’t feel they fit in. This charity is close to our hearts as we sing for them every year at Christmas and see how much good work they do with limited resources.
