Vocal Expressions

Vocal Expressions is a welcoming and friendly ladies choir based in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. Led by Musical Director, Nicola Mills, and accompanist, Lloyd Buck, the choir rehearses each Thursday evening in Holmbridge. As well as performing at our own concerts, we enjoy singing as guests of others; at fundraising events, weddings and private functions.
We have an extensive and varied repertoire including both sacred and secular music, ranging from classical to contemporary.

Most of all we just love to sing.

‘Flying Free!’ our spring concert was a great success, not only for the great variety of lovely music which was enjoyed by a very appreciative audience, but also because it raised a further £500 from the raffle and donations towards our chosen charity Forget me Not Children’s Hospice. Thank you everyone.

Coming up!

The choir will be taking part in Valley Voices Choir Festival at Marsden Mechanics on Sunday afternoon 11th May.

We are also delighted to be part of the Holmfirth Arts Festival with a short performance and workshop in Holmbridge on May 31st and as part of the performance and pageant on Saturday 14th June.

Each year Vocal Expressions adopts a charity to support. For 2024/25 the choir chose the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice as their charity,

We are pleased to announce that the choir has raised a total of £3,800 for FMNCH which we know is badly needed and will be put to very good use.

Our Charity for 2025/26 is Square Pegs - a local group for people with a variety of disabilities or people who who just don’t feel they fit in. This charity is close to our hearts as we sing for them every year at Christmas and see how much good work they do with limited resources.
